Open to university teams from the Indian Ocean Rim and Asian regions, the Games are an excellent opportunity for university students to experience international competition, interact in a positive fashion with a variety of cultures and, in the process, build life long friendships.
Ten sports will be contested in both mens and womens formats during the event from 7 to 11 December, 2009. The sports include football, soccer, rugby 7`s, badminton, tennis, hockey, judo, ultimate, water polo, beach volleyball and cricket 20/twenty. |

Evan Davies Building Fremantle

The Evans Davies Building in Fremantle, Perth was opened on 15th March 1899 for the Literary Institute by the then Mayor or Fremantle, Elias Solomon. The building was constructed by L.Burness under the instructions of architects Wolkinson, Smith and Wilson. There were two shops on the ground floor and the library was on the first floor along with a shoke and chess room. It operated as the Fremantle City Library between 1949 and 1966 before the library was relocated to its current located next to the town hall.
