The City of Perth Great Bike Ride 2009

Sunday 23nd Nov 2009

The City of Perth Great Bike Ride 2009 is hosted by the Rotary Club of Perth to raise significant and vital funds for the St John of God Foundation Horizon House Project, Hope for Children and the Heart Foundation – so you will not only helping one charity, but helping three very important causes make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves.

This year the event will be held on Sunday 23rd November. The ride starts and ends at Langley Park and participants will experience a visually spectacular and scenic tour of the Perth Swan River whilst taking on the awesome challenge of a 10km, 53km or 106km course!!

Since this event is really all about riders getting their friends, colleagues and families to give money to the charities through sponsorship (and enjoying a great ride around the river of course) we thought we would give something back to you for all your hard fundraising efforts!!

All you need to do is reach the minimum fundraising target for the category in which you register (individual, team, corporate team or family). Once you reach your allocated target your registration fee will be waived and you will ride for FREE – how easy is that??!

To make this event successful, not only do we need you to participate but we also need you to fundraise. Your registration fee only covers the cost of running the event. That’s why we really need you to make a special effort to hit your fundraising target to make this event worthwhile for the three charities involved and those they help.

Registration Closing Dates

  • Online - 12pm Friday 21st November
  • Team Entries - all team entries must be received by Friday 14th November
  • Post/Fax - Must be received by Friday 14th November
  • Shop - Closes at 4pm Saturday 22nd November

Old German Consulate

Perth, Fremantle Attractions

One of the most strikingly unique buildings in Fremantle, the Old German Consulate was built for local developer William deLacey Bacon by architect E.H.Dean. It was first occupied by wine and spirit merchants L. Rattazzi & Co. Laurman Rattazi was the Imperial German Consul and was held as an enemy alien after it was rumoured to have been using the upper floors to spy on ships coming in and out of the Fremantle Harbour.
